SPA LXXIX: El Mar Menor como Sujeto de Derechos. Un diálogo alrededor de la sentencia del Tribunal Constitucional de España 142/2024, de 20 de noviembre de 2024.

On Wednesday, February 19, 2025, Teresa Vicente Giménez (Professor and Director of the Chair of Human Rights and Rights of Nature at the University of Murcia), Itziar Gómez (Associate Professor at UC3M and Legal Counsel at the Constitutional Court of Spain), and Guillermo García Panasco (Prosecutor and Legal Counsel at the Constitutional Court of Spain) will participate in the LXXIX session of the Permanent Seminar Jesús González Amuchastegui with the topic: "The Mar Menor as a Subject of Rights: A Dialogue on the Constitutional Court of Spain's Ruling 142/2024, of November 20, 2024."

This event aims to foster a discussion on Spain’s first law and ruling recognizing rights for nature, featuring some of the key figures behind this milestone.

The session will be moderated by Digno José Montalván Zambrano (UC3M).

The event will begin at 16:30 (Madrid time) and will take place in person at Room 1.A.01, Puerta de Toledo Campus - UC3M.

The session will also be live-streamed via Zoom, with prior registration required at the following link.

The Jesús G. Amuchastegui Permanent Seminar – a name that replaced the previous Permanent Seminar on Law and Justice (SPDJ) as a small tribute to the aforementioned member of the Group who passed away in 2008 – aims to be an active space for the evaluation, promotion, and dissemination of research in the area of Philosophy of Law and Political Philosophy in Spain, facilitating debate with internationally recognized academics about their ongoing research and latest publications.
