César Rodríguez-Garavito is the Co-Director of the Center for Human Rights and Global Justice (CHR&GJ) at New York University (NYU) School of Law. He is the Editor-in-Chief of Open Global Rights. Among his publications are: Litigating the Climate Emergency: How Human Rights, Courts, and Legal Mobilization Can Bolster Climate Action (Cambridge, forthcoming), "Disrupting Human Rights: Existential Challenges and a New Paradigm for the Field" (forthcoming, Oxford, book chapter), Business and Human Rights: Beyond the End of the Beginning (Cambridge, ed.), Radical Deprivation on Trial: The Impact of Judicial Activism on Socioeconomic Rights in the Global South (Cambridge, co-author); Compliance with Socioeconomic Rights Judgments (Cambridge, co-editor); Rising to the Populist Challenge: A New Playbook for the Human Rights Field (Dejusticia, co-editor), and Balancing Wealth and Health: the Battle over Intellectual Property and Access to Medicines in Latin America (Oxford, co-editor).

The Jesús G. Amuchastegui Permanent Seminar - a name that has replaced the previous title of the Permanent Seminar on Law and Justice (SPDJ) as a small act of recognition to the group member who passed away in 2008 - aims to be an active space for the evaluation, promotion, and dissemination of research in the area of Legal Philosophy and Political Philosophy in Spain, fostering debate with internationally recognized academics about their ongoing research and latest publications.
